Most of the patients who come to see me in consultation for minimally invasive or robotic surgery have already been seen by another urologist. Having been elsewhere, most of my patients are surprised to see the level of detail lavished upon them. This includes the respectful and caring attention of my staff, as well as the time and effort I impart to make certain that you understand the myriad of issues you face with your particular problem. My patients do not leave my office without being fully informed about their choices.
If you are my patient undergoing surgery, I am the one operating on you – not a resident or fellow in training. Further, my assistant at the operating room table is a partner of mine – a full attending, also fellowship-trained, also trained in robotics, the same partners I perform all of my surgery with – not a resident or fellow in training. Further, my nursing staff in the operating room is specifically dedicated to robotic surgical care, and we team together on all of my robotic cases.
My partners and I are directly available to our patients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Morristown Medical Center is excellent, in no small part because of the extraordinary care and attention the nurses, doctors, pharmacists and other paramedical personnel give to the people they serve. Despite the fact that MMC is a very busy place, you will feel cared for, not neglected as you would at many other institutions. This is not left to chance, however. My presence and participation in your peri-operative care is obvious and unmistakable. I do not depend upon residents-in-training to drive decisions about your medical care. I see my hospital patients every morning, and additionally throughout the day as needed.
On a technical level, my methods and results are commensurate with what is published at university programs. You get world-class care.
In sum, if you ask me to be your doctor, I will be your doctor, and you will be cared for like I would want my own family to be cared for.
