We look at the showgunners demo version

I looked the other day demo version Showgunners. This is a step -by -step tactic of the show for survival in the entourage of Cyberpan, conceptually reminding me of the feature film “Running Man” with Arnold Schwarzeneger in the title role.

The demo version itself is called for some reason not consonant with the game, but has an independent name that sounds like a slogan of the game-“homicidal all-stars”. To be honest, I didn’t understand why so. In my opinion, this brings a certain confusion. If you know what is the matter, explain this moment in the comments.

As already said, conceptual Showgunners I was reminded by the film “Running Man”, which I saw only scraps, at a rather mature age and he did not come to me at all. The show shown there, in my opinion, looks too played and causes an association with Wrestlemania (WWE), where the pumped half -naked men, and sometimes the girls are not very convincing, but very pompous pretend to mutter each other in every interesting ways. However, this very WWE is also a very popular show, although I do not understand that this crap can be interesting. Apparently also with a show for survival in the above film with Arnie.

But this is still not about the movie, but about the game. Which is also not directly related to him. Moreover, the game has slightly different rules. And in any case, on the same basis, you can create an excellent game and an absolutely wise film product (we recall the “Witcher”), but it is possible and vice versa (it does not climb the head of the way).

In general, as the description reads Showgunners – We have to take part in a cruel television show in order to take revenge on the offenders. For the sake of this purpose, you will have to overcome dangerous city arenas full of fatal traps and fight off the hordes of armed psychopaths.

I like to play step -by -step tactical games. I like it Jagged Alliance 2, Mutant Year Zero, Shadowrun, Hard West II and t.p. Moreover, if the gameplay is made qualitatively, then the weak plot just gets into the background.

In general, I launched the demo version https://kingdomcasinouk.net/games/ of the game with a rather optimistic mood.

What was a surprise to me, Homicidal All-Stars It turned out to be just very short. I was released to the level with several opponents. As they are exterminated, there were still a couple of enemies. But their stripping is all, the end of the demo. Neither pumping showed me, but it seems to be, neither any plot elements, nor unique chips for different locations. Nothing.

For comparison, demo version Hard West II This is an introductory shooting by train, acquaintance with a new character, a shootout in a city where one of the members of the detachment, another couple of shootings and plus everything, they show us how custom -made detachment, including a chip of game with card buildings, is shown. That is, they show normally what to expect from the game.

Even in superheroic demo Scapes, which did not go to me at all, they provided several fights to evaluate the game and showed that they would expect me outside these fights.

Here, just one small level and nothing more. In my opinion, this is critical to evaluate the potential of the game. Or the authors just have nothing to show? In this case, the potential of the game is simply absent. But, I am still sure that there should be some kind of activity outside with step-by-step battles. Just for some reason they don’t show it to us.

In general, since only one combat section was shown to us, let’s talk about it.

We control three characters who have different weapons and skills. Of the interesting abilities – one of the characters can create its own hologram, which distracts enemies. He also has another ability, the essence of which I honestly did not catch. Judging by the description, she must change me in places with the indicated character, but no, there is some other effect. Others instead of grenade and mines, which is not so interesting (although quite effective).

Some abilities have a rollback so that it is impossible to spit them every move. Reloading weapons traditionally spends action points, but, for example, Zoe machine gun does not need reloading.

The action scheme is quite familiar to restart X-Com. That is, each character has 2 points of action that are spent either on movement, or directly on active actions (shooting, reloading, applying skills, etc.p.). In general, I did not see anything unusual here. If you played at least one game where the combat system is built on the principle of the mentioned X-Com, You will figure it out here. The question is, whether it brings Showgunners In this principle, something original? And the demo version of the game does not answer this question.

Do not forget that our fight is a show and is broadcast on television. Accordingly, everything that happens is actively illuminated by the commentator. From time to time, new enemies are thrown to us or some modifiers are added to the arena. Specifically in demo, closer to its end, the organizers of the show added exploding barrels. I will not say that this fundamentally influenced the course of the battle, but if there are any more interesting modifiers in the release version of the game, then this may well bring some highlight to the fight.

Among the first replenishment of our enemies, a certain Ronin was pathetically presented to me. Given the pathos, I decided that this is some kind of unique enemy-something like a boss or at least a miniboss. In general, something poses a much greater threat than other opponents in the arena. What was my surprise when I saw that this ronin has even fewer health points than other enemies. In general, with what threat he can pose if he gets to my characters to the distance of close combat, I did not recognize, since I eliminated it very quickly. In the next wave, Ronin also turned out to be, which I almost did not pay attention to, since this wave flew so successfully to the level that almost in full force died from one explosive barrel and grenade.

The “Overwatch” mode is quite strange here among enemies. It is natural not about the same name shooter, but about the ability, the activation of which makes it possible to automatically shoot at the character running through the field of visibility. So, here when the enemy passes into the Overvoch mode, I shows me cells, moving through which the enemy will shoot me at me. In my opinion, an extremely strange solution. Firstly, it strongly provides the gameplay. And secondly, in my opinion, the “ovever” should not be activated on any specific cells (of which there are only a few pieces there), but at any point that the enemy can be shot at the ready.
